{"id":10301,"date":"2020-03-12T10:26:26","date_gmt":"2020-03-12T10:26:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crossjoin.pt\/?p=10301"},"modified":"2026-07-08T14:06:35","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T14:06:35","slug":"david-vilars-interview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mockup.crossjoin.com\/en\/david-vilars-interview\/","title":{"rendered":"David Vilar&#8217;s Interview"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10285\" src=\"https:\/\/www.crossjoin.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Formato-Newsletter_GMC-1024x695.jpg\" alt=\"Global Management Challenge\" width=\"1024\" height=\"695\">David Vilar, our Performance Consultant, participated in the Global Management Challenge in 2019 with our other Crossers Jo\u00e3o Abreu and Hugo Meneses, and we found out how his participation went.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1 &#8211; Was this the first time that you participated in the Global Management Challenge?<br>David:<\/strong> Yes, I had the opportunity to participate in the past, but I wasn\u2019t able to at that time.<strong><br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2 &#8211; Why did you want to participate?<\/strong><br><strong>David:<\/strong>I wanted to participate because I like challenges, managing resources and expectations is a point of interest for me since an early age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3 &#8211;<\/strong> <b>How did your colleagues and you organize to answer the different challenges?<br><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>David:<\/strong> We usually chose one or two days of the week to stay a little later in the office and study the challenges. On the final day before the final submission, we would review each other&#8217;s suggestions and choose the final decision.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>4 &#8211; You didn&#8217;t pass to the next stage, do you feel you&#8217;d do better now? <\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Were you able to understand what went wrong and what was necessary for you to move on in the competition?<\/strong><br>Of course we like to believe that we would do better now, but there are a lot of details to pay attention too, and above all, it&#8217;s a competition! And as in any competition, we can even do much better than what was done before and still not achieve or exceed the results obtained by other teams.<br>At the time, we were all with projects that took a lot of time and I think we were given some unnoticed details that were important for solving the challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5 &#8211; According to GMC, this competition helps to gain a better understanding of the different areas of a company and understand that a bad decision can affect the whole business. Did you feel th<\/strong>at?<br><strong>David:<\/strong> Yes, I completely agree. All areas of the business have an impact on the final result, some more than others, but all are key to the long-term success of the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>6 &#8211; Would you like to participate again?<\/strong><br><strong>David:<\/strong> Yes, of course.
